In traditional times, most homes didn't have brushed nickel shower hoses, instead, homes would come outfitted with a basic bathtub which would have a shower faucet and a shower head, and just maybe, a little bit of brushed nickel or chrome trim to make things look classier. Having these two features would accommodate all of your needs; you could run the bath water when you wanted to take a nice hot bath, or you could just as easily take a hot shower by simply pulling up that little lever on the top of your shower faucet. These days though, those two options are not enough for everyone (myself included!), which is why the hand held shower with shower hose has become a much more common feature in a lot of homes.In most cases, these fixtures are found not in the bathtubs of people's homes, but rather in free standing, independent shower enclosures separate from the bathtub. Having a hand held shower head with a brushed nickel shower hose allows users a much greater range of motion while the mounting bracket also leaves open the option of keeping your shower head stationary. Being able to control where your shower water goes is a great feature to have regardless of how tall or short you are as it allows you to maximize your water usage and cleaning angles.

Unlike nickel shower rods, there really aren't a whole lot of different design types when it comes to nickel shower hoses; there are however, two predominant types. The first kind of shower hose comes with with a special end that allows you to remove your current shower head and replace it with the shower hose which is connected to a hand held shower head on the other end. This is the easiest way to install a hand held shower head and hose, but it's bot usually the one that's most preferred by people as it tends to look a little makeshift.The second kind of shower hose is the kind that is installed directly into your wall and leaves your original shower head to function the same way as it normally would. Once the shower hose is installed, you can choose to take a shower using the hand held unit, your original shower head, or both. This kind of option is often times installed by a professional plumber and therefore costs you a little bit more money upfront, but the end result is much more appealing and adds more value to your home than the aforementioned does.
